Matilde Heckler is a cutting edge young artist making a name for herself as a multi-faceted talent. Working primarily as an acoustic and electric violinist, she is a genre-bending player with a wide range of experience. She recently graduated from Berklee College of Music on a full-tuition scholarship and is now based in New York City.
Over the course of her career she has worked on recording projects for pop, jazz, classical, folk, and hip hop artists, adding her unique touch to each song. She has performed for The Met Gala, with Dermot Kennedy, has worked with several Philadelphia Orchestra members and grammy-nominated players, performed with Mark Wood, and has now begun to perform and in some of New York's most iconic spaces including House of Yes and Power Station Studios.
Aside from recording and performing for others, she explores her artistry within her own original music. Her most recent release, "pretty," is a clear step in a new direction for the versatile artist. With over 70k streams, numerous Spotify editorial placements, blog coverage, packed live shows, and more, Heckler is a force to be reckoned with at just 22 years old.
Her artistry spans across all mediums. Most recently, she landed her first feature film with Paramount Pictures in Mean Girls The Musical as a featured actress and musician, playing violin, piano, bass, and singing. She also fuses her visual art within her sonic art, featured on all of her public releases.
